Welcome to The BASE at Portsmouth Guildhall! The BASE is a creative space dedicated to young people, offering a supportive environment to explore, create, and collaborate. By using The BASE, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive experience for everyone.
Proper Use: Use all equipment, tools, and materials provided at The BASE responsibly and for their intended purposes.
Maintenance and Care: Treat all equipment with care. Report any damages or malfunctions to staff immediately. Do not attempt to repair equipment yourself.
Return of Equipment: Ensure all borrowed equipment is returned to its designated place after use. Leave the workspace clean and tidy for the next user.
Restrictions: Do not remove any equipment, tools, or materials from The BASE without explicit permission from staff.
Courtesy: Be courteous and considerate towards fellow users at all times. Avoid disruptive behaviour, loud noises, and any actions that may disturb others (other than music making, obviously!).
Collaboration: Encourage and support others in their creative endeavours. Share the space amicably and be open to collaboration.
Personal Belongings: Keep track of your personal belongings. The BASE is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Follow instructions and requests from staff promptly and respectfully. Their role is to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
Communication: Communicate openly and respectfully with staff. Report any issues, concerns, or suggestions to help improve the space.
Boundaries: Respect staff boundaries and do not engage in any inappropriate or disrespectful behaviour.
Behaviour: Adhere to the Code of Conduct, which promotes respect, inclusivity, and safety. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, or any form of abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.
Safety: Follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided by staff. Use protective gear where necessary and be mindful of your surroundings.
Substances: The use of alcohol, drugs, or any illegal substances is strictly prohibited within The BASE.
Privacy: Respect the privacy of other users. Do not record, photograph, or share any personal information or creative works of others without their consent.
Confidentiality: Keep any shared or collaborative works confidential unless otherwise agreed upon by all parties involved.
Eligibility: The BASE is designed for young people within specified age groups. Ensure you meet the age requirements for participation.
Registration: Register as a member to access The BASE. Provide accurate information during registration and update any changes promptly.
Access Hours: Adhere to the operating hours of The BASE. Do not attempt to access the space outside of these hours without prior permission.
Definitions:
Exclusive Room Bookings = Band Room 1hr booking and Production Room 1 hr booking.
High Demand Sessions = DJing lessons, Drumming Lessons, Band Room 1hr booking and Production Room 1 hr booking.
Credit Allowance: Members aged 11–17 and 18–25 receive 8 free credits every 30 days to book Band Room sessions. All other workshops and sessions are unlimited for members in this age range.
Daily Booking Limit: Members can book up to 3 Exclusive Room Bookings per day, but not more. Any additional sessions beyond the daily booking limit will be cancelled by admins without notification.
Attendance & Cancellations: If you book a session, you are expected to attend. We require 24 hours notice of cancellations to give others the opportunity to use the space. If you can no longer attend a session, please cancel as soon as possible via ClubRight. If you need to cancel within 24 hours of your booking, please contact us via message (on ClubRight, Facebook Messenger or Instagram) or email. However, late notice cancellations will still be recorded as a missed session.
Missed Session Policy: If you miss any 3 High Demand Sessions in a calendar month, you will be subject to a 30-day booking ban for all our High Demand Sessions.
Warnings: Minor violations may result in a verbal warning from staff.
Suspension: Repeated or serious violations may lead to temporary suspension of access to The BASE.
Termination: Severe violations, including illegal activities or endangering others, will result in immediate termination of membership and permanent ban from The BASE.
Liability: Users may be held financially responsible for any damages caused to equipment or the space due to misuse or negligence.
Updates: These terms and conditions may be updated periodically. Members will be notified of any changes and continued use of The BASE implies acceptance of the updated terms.
